A heat advisory has been issued for Miami-Dade and Broward counties for Monday and will be in effect noon to 6 p.m. South Florida also was under a heat advisory on Friday. Although the weekend was scorching hot in the region, the National Weather Service in Miami didn’t issue heat advisories for Saturday and Sunday.

Another day with highs in the 90s and heat indices in the triple digits throughout parts of the Miami Valley and mostly sunny skies. There is a heat advisory for the entire area until 8 PM, but could be extended Wednesday as highs reach 92 degrees with heat indices in the 100s.

The heat index could get as high as 111 in South Florida, with the strongest heat expected along the southern Gulf Coast.

An extreme heat warning and a heat advisory were issued by the National Weather Service for portions of Central Florida and the East Coast.
