Codelco, a Chilean copper miner, is working to rescue five workers trapped in the El Teniente mine following a collapse caused by a strong tremor. They have cleared 20 meters of the underground tunnels so far.

Chilean copper miner Codelco said on Thursday that one worker died at the Andesita project of its El Teniente mine after what it called a “seismic event” around 5:30 p.m. local time.
