Florida State football secured a major recruiting win on Saturday. And beating out Ohio State once again plus Georgia.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Four-star offensive lineman Da’Ron Parks committed to Florida State on Saturday evening, choosing the Seminoles over Ohio State, Auburn and Georgia. Parks is from West Virginia and is the No. 350 overall prospect and No. 25 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

Florida State coach Mike Norvell can't wait to move past last year's struggles. FSU went from being the reigning champion and preseason favorite last summer to finishing last in the league with a two-win season.

Despite a pretty good recruiting class the Ohio State football program is putting together for the 2026 cycle, there's been more than a handful of misses that we don't normally see. That continued on Saturday when 4-star offensive tackle Da'Ron Parks announced a verbal commitment to Florida State over Ohio State.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive lineman is regarded as the No. 189 overall prospect, the No. 20 OT, and the No. 3 recruit in Michigan in the 2027 class according to the 247Sports composite ratings. Florida State holds three verbal commitments in its 2027 class which ranks No. 5 in the country.

FSU trustees will vote on a 10% increase to out-of-state tuition during a virtual meeting Thursday. A FAMU spokesperson says FAMU will not be moving forward with a tuition increase at this time.
