With their 4-1 defeat to the Ducks on Monday, the Rangers have now lost 12 of 16 games at Madison Square Garden this season.

A 3-0 first-period deficit wasn't too much for New York's captain and his teammates to overcome in a resilient, 5-4 overtime win.

Two teams in the bottom half of the Eastern Conference standings meet when the New York Rangers (15-13-4, 11th in conference) host the Montreal Canadiens (16-11-3, ninth) at Madison Square Garden on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. New York suffered a 3-0 defeat on the road its last time out on Dec. 10 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Vancouver Canucks continue their road trip on Tuesday evening as they hit Madison Square Garden for a matchup against the New York Rangers. Following a strong debut for the newcomers, the Canucks will look to follow it up with another strong performance against the Rangers on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old veteran has been on a noticeable upswing of late, with nine points in his last nine games for the Rangers.
