Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison did the unthinkable when he decided to trade Luka Doncic, the face of the franchise, to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis. Not only did Harrison ship away the most beloved basketball player in the city during his prime, but he did so without getting the return many believe Doncic warranted.

Or perhaps the Mavericks stand pat after the Doncic trade. When Harrison acquired Irving and Markieff Morris from the Brooklyn Nets the Sunday before the Thursday trade deadline in 2023, the team suggested it wasn’t finished, but made no additional moves.

The NBA is more interesting today, following the trade of the century, than it was even a week ago. Here’s to more madness ahead.
