Current Final Fantasy XI director Yoji Fujito speaking with Dengeki Online revealed that before the game's 20th anniversary in 2022, Square Enix had considered ending support for the game in 2024.

"You will likely be able to play FINAL FANTASY XIV on Windows® 10 systems even after the end of support," the company said.

Games like Final Fantasy 11 can be quite challenging to get into, though, and that's why Square Enix is taking aim at the Final Fantasy 11 new player experience through 2025 and beyond.
