The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority has requested Gov. Gavin Newsom to intervene and get striking VTA employees back to work.

Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Daniel T. Nishigaya denied VTA’s motion without prejudice because the forms filed were not compliant with the rules of court, according to court filings — meaning that the agency can refile the request at a future date.

VTA’s request for the courts to immediately intervene in a weeklong strike has been denied, delaying the potential return of bus and light rail public transit service in the region.
