BC Ferries is warning travellers of potential sailing cancellations on multiple routes Thursday due to strong forecasted winds.

A passenger emergency Saturday evening, followed by severe weather Sunday morning has led to a stretch of sailing cancellations for the Port McNeill - Alert Bay - Sointula route.

Starting on Oct. 15, all customers travelling by vehicle, including motorcycles, from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay will be required to book and pay in advance.
