Denver Mayor Mike Johnston will soon be on his way to Washington D.C. to testify before the U.S House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to explain the city’s “sanctuary jurisdiction” policies.

Mayor Eric Adams and three other Democratic mayors are in the hot seat Wednesday for a high-stakes congressional hearing on sanctuary cities. Adams walked a political tightrope on sanctuary city laws – not defending the city policy or speaking out against it – during brief comments to reporters before the hearing.
