The 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles will kick off with the women's 100m final on day one and the men's 100m final on the second day.

The women's 100 metres final will headline the first day of competition at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, organizers said on Wednesday, part of a reshaped schedule that moves athletics into week one and gives swimmers the rare chance to attend the Opening Ceremony.

As part of a seismic schedule change for the 2028 Los Angeles Games, track and field, and not swimming, will lead off the Olympics. And the first day at the LA Coliseum, July 15, will include all three rounds of the women's 100 meters.
