Pepe Aguilar, a Mexican artist who can traverse many genres – from traditional ranchera to progressive pop - went for tradition in his 2025 Latin Grammys performance. Singing with the backing of a 16-piece mariachi, Aguilar belted "El Cihualteco" and "El Fuereño," from his album Mi Suerte Es Ser Mexicano, nominated for best ranchero/mariachi album.

Artists, albums and songs competing for trophies at the 68th annual ceremony were announced on Friday. The show will take place on Feb. 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Lady Gaga earned seven nominations this year, topping her previous record of six in 2010. The Mother Monster landed nominations in three of four major categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Gaga was tied with producers Jack Antonoff and Cirkut, who each nabbed seven nominations.

After the Recording Academy announced the full list of nominees on Friday, Nov. 7, artists began expressing their gratitude for the honor on social media.

Kendrick Lamar, last year's biggest winner will try to repeat his wins for song and record of the year. Other top nominees include Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga.
