Toyota Motor Corp is recalling 106,061 U.S. vehicles over a brake fluid leak that can reduce braking ability and increase the risk of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday.

(CNN) - Toyota has issued two safety recalls that involve more than 140,000 vehicles. The first recall applies to 2024 to 2025 Toyota Tacomas. Toyota officials say the rear brake hoses can be damaged over time and cause a brake fluid leak, increasing the risk of a crash.

The largest recall impacts 106,000 MY 2024-25 Tacoma 4-wheel drive vehicles equipped with 16-inch brakes and 17-inch Toyota wheels. The problem revolves around the rear brake hoses which can be damaged over time, especially if there’s build-up of mud and dirt inside the rear wheels.

Toyota issued a press release on Thursday announcing they were recalling more than 140,000 of its Camry and Tacoma models. They also issued a recall for Lexus RX SUVs. There were several reasons for the recalls.

Toyota and Lexus have announced a pair of recalls affecting a total of around 147,000 vehicles in the United States. These campaigns affect the Toyota Camry, Tacoma, Lexus NX, and RX. The automakers plan to begin notifying potentially affected owners about the campaigns in April 2025.

The first recall is for the rear center seat belt on the Camry and Lexus NX and RX, while the second relates to the Tacoma's rear brakes.
