White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt defended President Donald Trump as a “builder-in-chief" amid backlash from critics over the demolition of a part of the East Wing.
President Donald Trump is adding a $250 million ballroom to the east side of the White House. Construction started this week with crews tearing down the facade of the East Wing.
"This is a major renovation by a president who will not even be able to benefit from this vanity project," said ex-WH aide Yemisi Egbewole.
A White House official called Jen Psaki a "dumbass" and a "moron" after she made mocking remarks about Second Lady Usha Vance and her marriage to Vice President JD Vance.
As the government shutdown enters its fourth week, Senate Republicans arrived at the White House Tuesday for a display of unity with President Donald Trump.
The Republican president has said he's adding a 90,000-square-foot ballroom because the East Room, the largest room in the White House with an approximately 200-person capacity, is too small.
“The entire purpose of replacing the White House with this gaudy ballroom is to serve as a reward for Trump’s campaign donors and crypto scam bribers,” Jesse Lee, an adviser in both the Obama and Biden administrations, told The Hill. The Daily Beast has contacted the White House for comment.
The report centers on contested and thus far unsubstantiated claims that Biden declined to a degree that allowed White House officials to enact policies without his knowledge.
