Attorney General Pam Bondi issued an order rescinding sanctuary city policies in Washington, D.C. and naming an "emergency police commissioner."

AG Pam Bondi issued an ultimatum to sanctuary jurisdictions like Boston to align with federal immigration enforcement, but Mayor Wu reaffirms Boston's sanctuary policies.

The back-and-forth with the Trump administration over what is a so-called sanctuary state has revved up again as Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed in a letter to state officials that Connecticut is violating federal laws on immigration. "This ends now," Attorney General Pamela Bondi wrote this week, threatening the potential for civil fines.

The attorney general’s comments came as she issued a new directive voiding commands issued – as recently as earlier Thursday –  by DC Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith.
