The North Texas Tollway Authority began plowing toll roads with convoys Thursday night, using motor graders and truck-mounted plows to move snow and slush to the shoulder and applying deicer. That work will continue throughout Friday as staff work 12-hour shifts.

Thursday brought snow to parts of North Texas and the Panhandle. Here are the totals, and when Texans can expect road conditions to improve.

While still collecting reports across the region, NWS meteorologist Sarah Barnes provided a few snowfall totals for North Texas over the past 24 hours: The highest snowfall totals in the region were along the Red River, where the average was 6 to 8 inches. There was a report out of Sherman of 11 inches, Barnes said.
