High profile left winger Zarah Sultana has quit Labour and vowed to launch a new political party with Jeremy Corbyn. That, however, seems to have come as news to him.

Former Labour leader Lord Neil Kinnock has warned that any “splintering” of the left-wing parties would “only be of assistance to the enemies of Labour”. He suggested a breakaway party being created to the left of Labour should be known as the “ Farage assistance group”.

The former leader of Britain's Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, announced on Friday he was in talks to start a new political party because Prime Minister Keir Starmer's government had "refused to deliver the change" voters expected during its first year in office.
