The New York Mets have been discussing a deal with the San Diego Padres as they try to revamp their pitching staff, with the primary names including reliever Mason Miller and starter Nick Pivetta.

David Stearns and Co. have inquired about Padres flamethrower Mason Miller, according to The Post’s Jon Heyman . The Mets are one of “many teams,” per Heyman, looking at trading for Miller. Heyman added that the Padres love Miller “as much as anyone and would need to be overwhelmed” in a potential deal.
Five months after giving up a huge cache of players to acquire Mason Miller, the San Diego Padres are at least fielding interest in their star closer.
