KENTWOOD, MI — A distillery near Grand Rapids in Kentwood has officially closed its doors to the public after six years of serving hand-crafted spirits and hard seltzers. Wise Men Distillery announced in a Jan. 29 Facebook post that the company made the “tough decision” to close the business.

The ice on Lake Michigan is beautiful but dangerous. Grand Haven Public Safety is warning visitors that the ice is not safe.

A special meeting was held in Grand Rapids Tuesday evening to consider whether or not the community should become a sanctuary city.
