King Frederik X of Denmark arrived in Greenland on Tuesday, kicking off a visit to the semiautonomous territory that US President Donald Trump wants to annex because of its strategic Arctic location.

King Frederik flew to the Arctic island as a display of unity against the backdrop of Trump's talk of taking over the territory.

Denmark's King Frederik was set on Monday to begin a visit to Greenland to underscore unity with the semi-autonomous Danish territory in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's interest in taking over the huge Arctic island.
