It's been a week since over a dozen homes south of San Antonio burned down after being overtaken by fast-moving flames.

Texas will experience wind gusts of up to 55 mph in parts on Wednesday, while relative humidity will plummet to as low as six percent.

The warning will be in effect from noon through 8 p.m. Saturday because of gusty winds, especially dry air and parched vegetation in the area.

A red flag warning is different than a fire warning. A red flag warning means conditions exist that could lead to a wildfire. A fire warning is issued when there is an active fire spreading that is threatening life and property.

A First Alert Weather Day is in effect today for a red flag warning and the low chance of isolated storms in the late afternoon.
