EAST LANSING – With final exams over, Michigan State began winter break by rolling to a blowout win. The No. 9 Spartans (10-1) built a 30-point lead in the first half and overcame a sloppy finish for a 92-69 victory against Toledo (5-6) on Tuesday night at the Breslin Center.
Jaxon Kohler dominated the paint, showcasing a monstrous double-double as Michigan State's bigs overwhelmed Toledo in a commanding first half.
The Spartans looked sloppy during their last game at Penn State, but they did still pull out a 76-72 win. Next up is 5-5 Toledo, who is entering its only game against a high-major team this season, so this game will be of massive importance to the Rockets. MSU is a little used to being the other team's "Super Bowl," though.
