Prosecutors say a Massachusetts man stole more than $8,500 over a three-month period while working for the U.S. Postal Service.

A former United States Postal Service employee in Massachusetts pleaded guilty to stealing mail and the theft of government funds on Monday, federal prosecutors said.Michael Murray, 37, of Lynn, pleaded guilty to one count of theft of mail matter by an employee and one count of theft of government money.

A former U.S. Postal Service employee who worked in Revere and Melrose pleaded guilty on Monday to charges that he stole hundreds of pieces of mail and government funds, the U.S. Attorney said.
