Nick Bilton, a tech journalist and filmmaker with no broadcast TV experience, is the new executive producer of "60 Minutes," CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss and president Tom Cibrowski announced on Thursday.

Its incoming exec producer reveals early plans (including beat correspondents) as the overhaul hits insiders like "like a ton of bricks" after being telegraphed by CBS News editor in chief Bari Weiss.

Nick Bilton, the tech journalist and filmmaker who was appointed Thursday by CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss and president Tom Cibrowski as the new executive producer of "60 Minutes," called the position the "best job in journalism" in his introductory memo to staff.
