Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to push Trump for additional long-range weapons capable of striking targets inside Russian territory when he meets with Trump in Washington at the White House on Friday.

WASHINGTON, Oct 19 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump pushed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to give up swaths of territory to Russia during a tense meeting on Friday that left the Ukrainian delegation disappointed, according to two people briefed on the discussion.

European officials had been privately joking that Trump’s sudden pro-Ukraine pivot last month would only be good news if they could prevent him from speaking to anybody else with a different point of view.
