Severe thunderstorms are expected to smack 12 states in the Midwest and South over the weekend, with some tornadoes possible.

A stronger storm system is expected to impact the area Saturday night and part of Sunday. The timing of this system will continue to be adjusted as we grow closer to the latter half of the weekend.
