Just over a week after deadly flash floods swept through Texas Hill Country, the region may once again face a life-threatening deluge as slow-moving thunderstorms bring heavy rain, flash flooding, and rapid river rises to parts of central Texas Sunday.
HOUSTON — A funeral service for several members of the same family who died in the recent Texas floods will be held Friday. The service for John Burgess, his wife, and two sons will be held July 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at The Church of St. John the Divine in Houston.
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A group of local children who organize an annual summer daycare lemonade stand, and who usually split the money amongst themselves, decided this year they’d donate every dollar made to those devastated by the deadly July 4th flooding in the Texas Hill Country.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - After flash flooding in central Texas killed more than 100 people and left even more missing, an Nebraska animal shelter has stepped up to take in a number of dogs who were also left needing a place to stay.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said search and rescue efforts continue after the deadly floods in Central Texas as crews work to remove debris from roads and bridges. The governor said search parties still include many out-of-state volunteers and dog teams.
The Hill Country has a hold on the hearts of many Texans, meaning the suffering caused by the disaster is reaching as far as the region’s appeal.
Many of Texas' reservoirs and lakes are near full capacity, with some jumping more than 30 feet since early July.
