Just two weeks after sweeping police reforms were agreed upon by the city of Minneapolis and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), it appears that agreement, called a consent decree, could get tossed out.

The DOJ announced Minneapolis agreed to make systemic reforms to its police department after the 2020 murder of George Floyd sparked a federal probe.

The lack of transparency could diminish the buy-in on the consent decree from residents and, perhaps, police officers.
