State has crafted a financial incentive package in push to keep national league football and major league baseball teams from relocating to Kansas.

The governor’s signature capped off a two-week, at times chaotic, special session intended to prevent the city’s two major sports teams from leaving Missouri for Kansas.

Gov. Mike Kehoe signed a legislative package on Saturday, approved by Missouri lawmakers earlier in the week, that includes hundreds of millions of dollars of financial aid intended to persuade the Chiefs and Royals to remain in the state.
