Texas voters will see something they've rarely seen this century thanks to Attorney General Ken Paxton. When the Republican announced last week that he would run for the U.S. Senate, it set the stage for just the third open-seat battle for the attorney general's office since the year 2000.

A judge has ruled that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton violated the Texas Whistleblower Act and has ordered his office to pay four former employees $6.6 million dollars. In court documents, Travis County Judge Catherine Mauzy said Paxton retaliated against the employees after they reported the behavior they believed amounted to an abuse of power.
