Major League Baseball released the first update in All-Star Game voting on Monday, less than a month before the All-Star Game is slated to take place at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves.  The top vote recipients in each league should come as no surprise: New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge in the American League and Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani in the National League.

Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz, an All-Star in 2024, could be among the top vote-getters at his position, but will face a challenge from the New York Mets’ Francisco Lindor, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Mookie Betts and the Philadelphia Phillies’ Trea Turner, among others.

Aaron Judge, the slugger who leads the majors in batting average, and Shohei Ohtani, who have combined to win five of the last eight Most Valuable Player awards, are lapping the rest of Major League Baseball in the first batch of All-Star Game balloting.
