A SkyWest flight from Omaha to Detroit was diverted Thursday over an unruly passenger, who is now facing multiple charges following his arrest in Cedar Rapids.

A federal court hearing is scheduled for Friday in Iowa for a man accused of causing a disturbance on a Detroit-bound SkyWest flight.

A Nebraska man was arrested in Cedar Rapids on July 17 after he allegedly assaulted a person on a SkyWest flight and tried to open an emergency exit.

SkyWest will halt flights between Denver and Pueblo Dec. 1. Southern Airways Express is the only airline to apply to take over the commercial flights.
