Eltz Castle (German: Burg Eltz) is a medieval castle nestled in the hills along the Moselle River between Koblenz and Trier, Germany. It has remained in the ownership of a branch of the Eltz noble family, who have lived there since the 12th century. Together with Bürresheim Castle and Lissingen Castle, Eltz Castle is one of the only castles in the Eifel region that has never been destroyed. The castle is situated on a 70-meter-high (230 ft) rocky spur, surrounded on three sides by the Elzbach Ri
