Most tomatoes we grow in our Home gardens are hybrids. That means two tomatoes were cross pollinated to create the plant you are growing. When you collect seeds from hybrids the seeds, don’t usually come true to the plant you collected them from they revert back to one of the parents. So it’s best to collect seeds from open pollinated varieties of tomatoes. You want to select the plant that was the most vigorous all season and select ripe tomatoes that have all of the characteristics you want. s
