In 1975, Florida State University held a special night to honor Burt Reynolds, one of its most famous alumni. Burt attended FSU on a football scholarship in 1950, but his career on the gridiron was cut short due to injury. Throughout his life he continued to give back to the Seminole athletic department, and was actually responsible for contracting a Hollywood costume designer to redesign the Deion era uniforms.
