One of the biggest backhand problems I see in younger infielders, is staying too tall and letting the ball slip under the glove. With this athlete, we attacked it directly. I had him use a pancake glove while chopping his feet and pushing a flat cone across the turf. This forces him to keep his chest over his toes, stay low, and maintain real infield posture instead of reaching. After a few reps, you can literally see the difference. His backhand posture is cleaner, lower, and more controlled. T
