Oxidative phosphorylation is a process in our cells where electrons are transferred from NADH and FADH2 (generated during the Krebs cycle) to oxygen (thereby reducing it, and also generating ATP) across several protein complexes in the mitochondria known as the electron transport chain. The stepwise passing of electrons from one complex to the next complex helps generate a H gradient across the inner mitochondrial membrane which eventually powers ATP synthesis via ATP synthase. #biologytok #biol
