So on a walk through the city, you’ll come across wooden tsarist-era constructions as well as many landmarks from Kazakhstan’s Soviet era. The space where the Green Bazaar stands now used to be where merchants and caravans were received. And I unexpectedly came across a statue of Viktor Tsoi—a famous Soviet musician and Koryo-saram—ethnic Korea
